Rialto Theatre & Gallery—C. 1915—Mr. Guy Vail is remembered as the owner & piano player of the area’s first silent movie theatre. Although the Theatre has changed hands & appearances several times throughout its life, it has always been an important part of downtown & Morrilton in general…the city obtained the Theatre in 1995 & renovations began to return it to its former glory…today the Rialto is bustling with plays, concerts, events & movies…the Gallery is housed right next door to the theatre in the former Massey Hardware store. In its heyday, Massey Hardware was much more than a store; it was the social center for the town.
